Programs

English Bridge Program

The Pre-Form 1 Program began in 2009. It is a 50-day English immersion course for students who recently completed Primary School and want to further their education in secondary school. Each year, 40 students – 20 girls and 20 boys spend their summer break learning English with native English speakers through the TTF-designed curriculum that is student-centered and incorporates life skills, STEM activities, song, and total physical response techniques. Students build their English vocabulary through daily reading, writing, listening, and speaking activities.

TTF Scholars Program

TTF is dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for promising young learners in Manow. Each year, we secure 4 scholarships for the top-performing Pre-Form 1 English students to attend Manow Lutheran Junior Seminary through our TTF Scholars Program. By easing financial barriers, we help students pursue secondary education in a supportive learning environment. This initiative not only transforms individual lives but also strengthens the local community by fostering future leaders who will give back and drive positive change.

“… in the first year, [the community] saw the kids who went through the Pre-Form 1 English Course, they [the pupils] are doing very well in their classes in different schools. Then more and more parents wanted to bring their kids.” – TTF International Coordinator

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

In the past, as part of our commitment to community engagement, TTF partnered with the local preschool to ensure young learners receive a strong foundation for their education. When the school’s funding ended, TTF provided a micro-grant and collaborated with teachers on a five-year plan to achieve economic self-sufficiency. With our support, enrollment increased from 45 to 70+ students. The pre-school, with TTF’s assistance, developed a strategic plan to gradually increase tuition and consistently provide teacher salaries. By 2024, the preschool was on track to be economically self-sustaining, ensuring a lasting impact for generations to come. In fact, in 2025, the first pre-school students attended the English Bridge Program.
